Navigating museums can sometimes be tricky when there are so many good options near your Forest Properties home. Don’t get us wrong, choosing an indoor activity over the beautiful Florida weather is no easy feat, but it’s worth the change of scenery. Whether you’re looking for an indoor activity to escape the sun or seek coverage from an afternoon shower, keep our Museum Guide to Bradenton/Sarasota in your back pocket!

Mote Laboratory & Aquarium

Explore the secrets of the sea through touch pools, interactive exhibits, and real science labs at Mote Laboratory & Aquarium. Housing over 100 species of marine life, including manatees, sharks, and our favorite sea turtles, Mote strives to educate the local community on our neighboring maritime friends. Here are a few informative (and very fun!) Mote Experiences:

  • Bay Walk & Talks with marine biologists
  • Hands-on water experience with an eco-boat tour
  • Help prepare brunch for the sharks at The Shark Encounter

This stunning tropical oasis refers to itself as a living museum, and it’s easy to see why. Located on a serene bay in Sarasota, the gardens are dedicated to education, research, and conserving Florida’s native flowers, greens, and wildlife. As you plan your visit, consider adding one (or all!) of these events to your agenda:
