The surrounding area of Boston has seen a few early signs of spring, and we’re more than ready to say goodbye to chilly weather. March is a wonderful month that encourages residents of Forest Properties to break cabin fever. From tasty food festivals, flower shows, and of course celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, we’ve picked fresh events, both indoors and out, to keep your March calendar full – no matter the weather! Here’s what we’re looking the most forward to:

Beer and Cheese Fest

This tasty combination is back for its third year in Boston! From March 9-10th, the Boston Beer and Cheese Fest is bringing 25 of New England’s best breweries and 12 artisan cheese makers under one roof.

The event, taking place at The Cyclorama, focuses on craft beers, ciders, and cheeses that are unique to the area. In fact, the Beer and Cheese team will be pairing drinks from each brewer with a cheese from each creamery – creating a ton of beer, cider, and cheese pairing combinations! For a ticket price of $60, you’ll have access to over 80 local brews at one of the following sessions:

  • Session 1 – Friday, March 9th: 6-9:30pm
  • Session 2 – Saturday, March 10th: 1-4:30pm
  • Session 3 – Saturday, March 10th: 6-9:30pm

  • Adult admission is $20
  • Seniors are $17

The South Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade

There is truly nothing like celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in Boston! Make sure you have your green outfit, Leprechaun hat, and cameras ready on Sunday, March 18th for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in South Boston. Keep your eyes open for parade floats, authentic bagpipes, and local Irish eateries to stop by afterwards before heading home to your Landing53 apartment! Make sure to arrive well before the 1:00pm start time to get a good spot – it’ll be a big crowd.

Dine Out Boston

Dine Out Boston, formerly known as Restaurant Week Boston, is taking over the area’s best restaurants for a celebratory week of exploring Boston’s cuisine scene. From March 18-30th, the event gives locals and out-of-town visitors an opportunity to sample area restaurants at special prices. A list of participating restaurants throughout Boston and Cambridge can be found here, and be sure to check back for added spots!

With so many restaurants taking part in Dine Out Boston, residents of The Parkside and Barclay on Beacon are encouraged to participate!
